Hourglass — Table Lamp

Designed by Bill Parry for Rattanology

A sculptural hourglass silhouette in handwoven pencil reed rattan. Form and light in equal measure.

The Hourglass is a piece of considered restraint — its distinctive silhouette drawn from the mid-century modern tradition, handwoven in premium pencil reed rattan with brass fittings throughout. The woven shade filters light into warm, ambient patterns across a room. It does not perform. It simply is.

The Making

Made in the Philippines. Each piece handwoven using traditional rattan weaving techniques — natural variations in weave and tone are a mark of its artisan character. No two pieces are exactly alike. Each piece ships with a handwritten Certificate of Making.

Rattanology is a UK design studio based in Oxford, partnering with the men and women who make it to create premium rattan lighting and furniture with intention and integrity.
