Gerrit Rietveld designed the Zigzag in 1934. We made it in rattan.

The Zigzag is a rattan reinterpretation of one of the twentieth century’s most iconic chair forms — its cantilevered Z-shaped silhouette handwoven in natural rattan, its warm honey tones softening what Rietveld rendered in wood. An original Rattanology design inspired by the spirit of the Zigzag, not a reproduction. A chair that brings both design history and natural warmth to any room it enters.

Made in the Philippines. Each Zigzag handwoven by hand — the cantilevered form shaped with care, natural variations in rattan tone and texture inherent to the piece. No two chairs are identical. Each piece ships with a handwritten Certificate of Making.
