Node Collection

There is a moment in every piece of bamboo where growth pauses — where the material gathers itself before continuing. It is this moment, the node, that Bill Parry has made the quiet subject of this collection.

Each piece is handcrafted in the Philippines by artisans who understand the material intimately. The joinery is unhurried. The forms are considered. Nothing is added that does not belong.

The Node Collection is for those who find beauty in restraint.

On Bamboo & the Node

Bamboo is one of the oldest building materials known to humanity — used for centuries across Asia in architecture, craft, and daily life. What makes it remarkable is not only its strength or its speed of growth, but its honesty. The material does not conceal its structure. It offers it openly.

The node is where that structure is most visible. At each joint, the bamboo wall thickens, the fibres compress, and the stem is reinforced from within. It is a natural response to tension — a quiet engineering that has evolved over millennia. In many Asian traditions, the node is considered a symbol of resilience, integrity, and the passage of time.

In the Node Collection, these joints are not hidden or smoothed away. They are the design.
