The Whorl Wall Sconce takes its form from the geometry of a shell — natural rattan hand-formed and wrapped into a spiral that sits flush against the wall, casting warm, diffused light through its surface. Quiet. Considered. Entirely itself.

The Making

Each Whorl Wall Sconce is handcrafted in the Philippines by master weavers who have worked with rattan for generations. The spiral form is hand-formed entirely from natural rattan — no two are identical. Natural variation in tone and texture is inherent to the material.

Rattanology is a UK design studio based in Oxford, partnering with master craftspeople around the world to create premium rattan lighting and furniture with intention and integrity.
